Poor little pNut cracked a nail on her front paw at the park last weekend - cracked as in all the way up into the nail bed. It's been tender and bled whenever she knocked it on something. Nick decided to take her to the vet today and they "took care of it" and gave her a pretty Christmas bandage for her paw. She is so much happier tonight! Look at that cute bandage!

Penny celebrated her 3rd birthday on Monday. She was pleasantly surprised by the addition of boiled hamburger and carrots and cottage cheese added to her breakfast that morning. Happy Birthday Pen! She also got to get tired and dirty at Forest Park that day.

I know everybody thinks their dog is the cutest dog EVER.
But you've got to admit, Penny is pretty darn cute.

Sometimes she shakes like crazy when she sleeps. I imagine it's because she's in the position of an Olympic diver and she thinks she's going to hit her head on the diving board like Greg Louganis.

Sandy River Delta...more photos

The Sandy River Delta is a 1,400 acre park just east of Portland, where this river meets the mighty Columbia River. It's also Penny's new favorite place to run, hunt and find dead fish to get her stink on. There is grassland, wooded forest, swampy lowland and of course, sandy beaches. As the water levels rise during the beginning of the rainy season now, the shoreline is shrinking, making the water crossings more abundant and more difficult, at least for us humans.
